New OnePlus 13 Update Brings Improved Security, Fresh Complications

Summary: OnePlus has started to roll out the March 2025 security update to the OnePlus 13, but this update also delivers some complications. Issues with battery life, touchscreen responsiveness, font sizes, and widget misalignment have been reported. OnePlus will likely stop this update, whose rollout started in India, before making its way to other global markets.

The OnePlus 13 is now receiving a new update, but it’s not without its issues. First and foremost, this update is now rolling out in India, while other markets are expected to get it soon. OnePlus may pull it, however, due to the issues that popped up, and that could delay the rollout.

New OnePlus 13 update delivers March 2025 security patch and new complications

What’s going on? Well, the OxygenOS 15.0.0.703 update has started to roll out, and it brings the March 2025 Android security patch with it. In addition to that, this update improves the process for resetting your privacy password. If you forget it, you can use your account to reset it.

On top of that, the text translation feature for Breeno Touch has been improved, while some stability and performance fixes have also been issued. The thing is, this update also introduced some problems, based on the comments on the OnePlus Community, at least.

Some battery life concerns emerged following this update. Users reported screen-on time numbers dropping to 4-6 hours, which is much worse than before. The OnePlus 13 usually has outstanding battery life, we’ve been able to cross the 10-hour screen-on time repeatedly.

Touchscreen responsiveness was mentioned, as were accidental double taps

On top of that, some users reported touchscreen responsiveness issues following the update. Delayed inputs and accidental double taps have been mentioned. One user said that his screen flickers when switching from apps like WhatApp. Other users say that font sizes have changed and widgets are now misaligned.

Based on the comments, there are quite a few issues following this update. We’re not sure if OnePlus stopped it at this point, but changes are it will, if it didn’t already. These issues need to be addressed before the update proceeds.

Do note that the same update is coming to other regions with global versions of the phone, but it may take some time if OnePlus ends up fixing these issues.
