Moto Razr+ 2024 and 2023 side by side

Summary

  • Official images and specifications of the Motorola Razr+ (2025) have leaked ahead of its launch next week.
  • The flip-style foldable will include a larger primary screen, dust resistance, and some other minor upgrades onboard.
  • Unfortunately, software support might be underwhelming on the Razr+ (2025), with only three years of major updates mentioned.

Motorola’s flip-style foldables are set to be refreshed on April 24. We know a fair bit about what to expect from the premium Razr+ (2025), known as the Razr 60 Ultra in global markets. Like any other Android smartphone launch, renders of the phone were already out months in advance. One of the leaks also revealed a woodgrain version, bringing back memories of the classic Moto X. We’re now coming across a fresh Razr+ (2025) leak, which reveals nearly everything about the device ahead of its official launch on Thursday.

The ever-reliable Evleaks, a.k.a Evan Blass, has published official-looking images of the upcoming foldable on X/Twitter, including a handful of lifestyle photos. Accompanying these images is a specs sheet, offering details on the display, camera, storage, battery, and more. We’re learning that dust resistance will be part of the equation with the new Razr+ (2025), which was missing from last year’s model.

Interestingly, these images suggest that the Razr 60 Ultra/Razr+ (2025) will only be available in three colorways, though it was previously suggested that there could be four colors in the mix. It’s worth noting that one of these newly published images confirms the Scarab Green version of the Razr+ (2025) will feature Alcantara fabric, a soft-touch material similar to suede. Meanwhile, the Rio Red version of the upcoming foldable will utilize vegan leather fabric on the back panel.

The software support could remain underwhelming

As for the hardware of the Razr+ (2025), the leak confirms a 7-inch primary/inner screen (pOLED) — marginally larger than the 6.9-inch unit in last year’s model — with an upgraded resolution of 2992 x 1224. Meanwhile, the pOLED cover display remains the same size at 4 inches. The foldable will come with two 50MP cameras on the back, paired with a 50MP front-facing camera.

Meanwhile, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC will manage the performance side of things, with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage mentioned. Lower storage and RAM configurations should be available, although it’s unclear whether all variants will reach US shores, especially given our experience with the Razr+ (2024) last year.

In addition to the hardware of upcoming smartphones, we pay attention to the duration of software support each manufacturer provides. This is where the Razr+ (2025) could disappoint, as one of the marketing materials mentions just three years of major software updates, while featuring Android 15 by default. However, this isn’t surprising given that the Razr+ (2024) also follows the same software update pattern.

There’s some good news, too. The Razr+ (2025) will come with a 4,700mAh battery, coupled with support for 68W fast charging. Some reports have suggested that the Motorola Razr+ (2025) could be pricier than its predecessor. But we can only confirm that when the smartphone and its budget-friendly sibling are unveiled next week.
