Motorola’s Razr 2025 Series Is Loaded With AI – And That’s Not A Bad Thing

With the 2025 Razr series, Motorola has loaded the trio with tons of AI. And before you scoff at that, let me explain why that’s a good thing.

While other phones have loads of AI features that were built by Google and some built by the OEM itself, Motorola is doing that, and more. What Motorola is doing differently here is, it’s integrating virtually every AI service you can think of. Motorola has integrations with Perplexity, Gemini and Meta. With Microsoft Copilot coming in the very near future.

That might sound like a lot, and it is, but it’s not overwhelming. You see, moto ai will send you to the AI tool that will be best for your task. If you’re looking for the latest news on a topic, Perplexity is going to be the way to go. If you need something done on your device, then Gemini might be the way to go. The fact that moto ai is able to intelligently push you towards the right tool is a big deal.

On the Razr Ultra, there is now a dedicated AI Key on the left side of the phone. Pressing this button brings up moto ai, and allows you to get your task started. It also gives you a shortcut to two of moto ai’s best features – Pay Attention and Catch Me Up.

moto ai’s features are useful, instead of gimmicks

Motorola has a trio of AI features that are part of moto ai that are actually very useful. Versus being gimmicks like a lot of the AI features we’ve seen on other devices.

Catch Me Up is one of my favorite features here. Essentially what this does is it, well catches you up on what you missed. Say you woke up in the morning to a slew of new messages, this feature can make it easier to read them all, and reply to them in-line. That’s right, you can reply to WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram, and other messaging apps without going into those apps. The best part about this feature is that it is all on-device. It is actually using the Llama LLM from Meta to get it done.

Then there’s Pay Attention. This feature is going to be very useful in meetings and briefings. It’s like Google Recorder, but much better to get started with. Tap or tell moto ai to “Pay Attention” and it’ll start recording the audio in the room, which it can later transcribe for you. So, despite taking notes in a meeting, you can still miss something, and moto ai has your back.

And finally, there’s Remember This. This feature will essentially start a note for you, to be saved in your journal. This is great for those times you want to remember something, and don’t want to take the time to write it down.

These features are not technically new, they were available last year on the Razr 2024 (Razr 50) series, however, they were only available in an opt-in beta program. Now, these features will be available to all Razr 2025 users.

Motorola is also planning more features that will be available in the future. The company is focusing on features that will blend into the smartphone experience, are intuitive, and make users’ lives easier.
