Motorola Razr 60 Ultra Gets One Step Closer To Launch

The Motorola Razr 60 Ultra just took one step closer to its launch. The phone was certified by the BIS authority in India. It appeared under the XT2551 model number.

The Motorola Razr 60 Ultra moves closer to launch thanks to a certification

This certification, as per usual, does not reveal much. Well, nothing except the model number, really. As a reminder, the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra appeared with the XT2451 model number, that is how we know this is its successor.

The Motorola Razr 60 Ultra is allegedly codenamed ‘Orion’, and it’s expected to arrive mid-year. The Motorola Razr 50 Ultra dropped towards the end of June last year. So we’re expecting a similar launch timeframe for this model too.

Its design and specs are a mystery at this point

This phone is a complete mystery at this point, though. Its design did not leak, and the same goes for its specifications. Nothing has been rumored thus far either, it has been complete silence until now.

We are not expecting its design to change much compared to the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra, but who knows? Considering that no information leaked, we can only guess, really.

The Snapdragon 8s Elite will likely fuel the device

Current-gen model is fueled by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip. The new device could end up utilizing the rumored Snapdragon 8s Elite, unless Motorola jumps straight to the Snapdragon 8 Elite, which is not likely.

The phone will be water resistant, based on its predecessor, while Android 15 will come pre-installed. A large cover display is expected, as its predecessor has one too.

It remains to be seen if Motorola plans to improve the wireless charging speed on the device. Its predecessor supports 15W wireless charging, so it would be nice to an improvement in that area.

Do note that this smartphone will be called the Motorola Razr+ (2025) in the US. It will be the same device but have a different name in the States.
