Motorola Razr 2025: Your Ultimate Guide To Motorola’s 2025 Flip Phones

Contents
Motorola’s 2025 Razr lineup is here, and its actually bigger than ever before. In more ways than one. First of all, the Razr 2025 lineup consists of three devices for the first time: Razr, Razr Plus and Razr Ultra (or Razr 60 and Razr 60 Ultra outside of North America, the “Plus” is exclusive to North America). The Razr Ultra also has the largest screen we’ve seen on a flip phone before at 7-inches.
Motorola’s lineup is more confusing, and yet less confusing than ever before. We’re going to get through all of the hype and tell you which Razr is the one you should be buying, in this Ultimate Guide. Which will tell you everything you need to know.

As mentioned already, the Razr 2025 lineup has three models:
- Motorola Razr 2025/Razr 60
- Motorola Razr Plus 2025
- Motorola Razr Ultra 2025/Razr 60 Ultra
The Razr 2025 is mostly the same as the Razr 2024, with a few smaller hardware upgrades. The Razr Plus 2025 is mostly the same as the Razr Plus 2024 and Razr 50 Ultra. The new kid on the block this year is the Razr Ultra 2025 or Razr 60 Ultra. Which sports some pretty beefy specs, and is the undisputed flagship phone from Motorola.

How much does the Motorola Razr 2025 cost?
The Motorola Razr 2025 will start at $699 and caps at $1,299. Here’s how the price of each model compares:
- Motorola Razr 2025: $699
- Motorola Razr Plus 2025: $999
- Motorola Razr Ultra 2025: $1,299
These are relatively the same prices as the last few years, with the Ultra being the new kid here, and raising the high-end price to $1,299. That does make it more than the Galaxy Z Flip 6, though we expecting Samsung to make a price increase for the Flip 7 this year.
What colors does the Motorola Razr 2025 come in?
Motorola has a ton of vibrant colors for the Razr 2025 series, and it’s no surprise why. During our briefing, Motorola said that 65% of the phones the company sold in 2024 were bold colors. Meaning only about 35% were neutral colors like black and white. Showing that users do want these bold colors, despite other smartphone makers sticking to such boring colors.
Motorola Razr 2025
- PANTONE Spring Bud
- PANTONE Gibraltar Sea
- PANTONE Parfait Pink
- PANTONE Lightest Sky
Motorola Razr Plus 2025
- PANTONE Mocha Mousse
- PANTONE Midnight Blue
- PANTONE Hot Pink
Motorola Razr Ultra 2025
- PANTONE Rio Red
- PANTONE Scarab
- PANTONE Mountain Trail
- PANTONE Cabaret
All of these colors are vegan leather, except for a few. The PANTONE Mountain Trail is a wood-backed option, and Scarab is Alcantara. The PANTONE Lightest Sky for the regular Razr is more of a textured glass back.
These are some really amazing options from Motorola, which is what has helped them pick up over 70% of the flip phone market with the Razr.
What features does the Motorola Razr 2025 series have?
The Razr 2025 series does come with quite a few new features, mostly having to do with AI, because it is 2025.
New moto ai features
Motorola has introduced a few new moto ai features on the Razr, though technically some of these were available in beta already. This includes features like Catch me up, Pay Attention and Remember this.
One of the themes I’ve noticed with these features, and the new AI button on the Ultra, is that Motorola wants AI to sort of fade into the background. The company wants moto ai to be there for you, when you need it, but not take over your user experience. Which has me very excited for these phones.
Catch me up is a pretty cool feature, think of it as Apple Intelligence’s Notification Summaries, but on steroids. It happens every day, we wake up to a slew of notifications, some are important, and most are not. With Catch me up, your Razr will prioritize what it thinks is the most important and will even show your messages by app, allowing you to reply from right there in the notification shade, without needing to go to another app.

Pay Attention is another really cool feature, which can easily be activated on the Razr Ultra by pressing the AI button on the left. This will immediately start an audio recording. So it’s good for a meeting, where you might miss something despite taking notes. This sort of feels like Google Recorder, but perhaps even better.
And finally, Remember this. With this feature, moto ai can start a note for you, when you tell it to “Remember this”. It’ll write down what you said and “remember” it.
Of course, moto ai also has a slew of partnerships this year. Including Perplexity, Meta, Gemini and Microsoft CoPilot (coming soon). Instead of letting you choose between assistants like Gemini or Perplexity, moto ai is going to direct you to the assistant that will get the task done the best. Kind of putting AI on steroids here.
More durable hinge
Motorola also has a more durable hinge this year, on all three Razr models. Which isn’t a surprise, as most foldable devices get a more durable hinge every year. This is a new titanium reinforced hinge, which is said to be 4x more durable. It is also one of the few foldables to have any sort of resistance for solids, with a rating of IP48. Which is actually a downgrade from a few years ago, where it was IP52.
Remember, the first number in an IP rating is for dust, the second is for water. So the 4 is for resistance from “most wires, slender screws, large ants, etc.” And the 8 is for water resistance up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. Not the best dust and water resistance, but not bad either.

Should you upgrade to the Motorola Razr 2025?
Now for the big question. Should you upgrade? So far, we can’t give a definitive answer to that, since we have not yet reviewed any of the 2025 Razrs. We are expecting to get review units very soon, however. But from our limited hands-on time, we’d say it’s worth upgrading only if you’re coming from a 2023 Razr or older, or from a different device entirely. The Razr and Razr Plus aren’t much different from 2024, and the Razr Ultra is really nice and all, but if you’re on a 2024 Razr model, the added power might not be worth the price.
We do expect to see some very aggressive promos from Motorola, however on the Razrs when they do go up for pre-order on May 7.
