Meta’s New AI Video Editor Tool Can Turn Your Clothing Into A Space Cadet Suit
Meta just announced probably the coolest video editing capabilities for Meta AI. As part of the latest update, you can now edit short videos using preset AI prompts. Meta says that with the new AI video editor, you can change costumes, locations, and styles.
The new video editing tools are rolling out to the Meta AI app, Meta.ai website, and the Edit apps in the US. The company notes that its Movie Gen models inspire the new AI video editor tools. However, it’s unclear whether Meta is using the same model that powers Movie Gen to power the new video editing tools.
You’ll get 50 preset options to choose from to edit a 10-second video. The company has also noted that it received feedback from creators to come up with those presets. Doing this allowed Meta to easily add those AI video editor tools to the Edits app.
So, what are the new presets brought in by the new Meta AI video editor tools? Well, you can apply a “vintage comic book style” to a video. That’s not all; you can even change the lighting of the clip to a rainy day. What’s interesting is that the new AI video editor tools let you swap the subject’s clothing for a space cadet suit. Well, these are just a few examples; there’s more you can do.
Sharing the AI-edited video is also easy. You can share it directly to Facebook and Instagram from the Edits and Meta AI app. Speaking about the AI video editor, Meta says, “We built this feature so that everyone can experiment creatively and make fun, interesting videos to share with their friends, family, and followers.”
The company has also confirmed that it will offer more customization options later this year. For the uninitiated, Meta AI already provides image generation features across platforms. Now, it seems Meta is focusing more on the AI video editor part to keep creators hooked to its platforms. Moreover, in a related company news, Meta is building an AI superintelligence team, citing poor reception of its Llama 4 model.
