MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Architecture Leaked With Incredible AnTuTu Score

MediaTek used to be viewed as the AMD of the smartphone world. It represented devices that were cheap and not as powerful compared to phones powered by Qualcomm’s chipsets. However, the company has done a great job shedding that image. With the latest MediaTek Dimensity 9500 leak, we have an idea of its architecture, along with a potential AnTuTu score that could give Qualcomm a run for its money.

Astounding AnTuTu scores

According to Digital Chat Station, MediaTek’s engineering samples are already in testing. The Dimensity 9500 will reportedly use a 1+3+4 core layout. That’s one ultra-core, three performance cores, and four efficiency cores. The ultra-core? A single ARM Cortex-X930 “Travis” clocked at over 4GHz. That’s honestly pretty wild.

Early benchmark targets show MediaTek aiming for around 3.5 million points on AnTuTu. If that holds, the Dimensity 9500 could become the fastest Android chip on the market when it launches.

The MediaTek Dimensity 9500 architecture doesn’t just rely on clock speed. It also benefits from ARM’s new Scalable Matrix Extension (SME), which improves AI and machine learning performance. Combine that with TSMC’s advanced 3nm N3P node, and this chip could even rival Apple’s M4 in single-core tasks. This is an area where Android chips usually fall short.

Vivo and Oppo are expected to be the first brands to use it in their next-gen flagships. The Vivo X300 and Oppo Find X8 might be among the earliest phones to showcase what this chip can do. There are also rumors that the Honor Magic 9 series will be picking it up.

Coming later this year

MediaTek hasn’t confirmed when its Dimensity 9500 chipset will launch. However, the company has confirmed it is hosting its Dimensity Developer Conference next month. The event isn’t for the Dimensity 9500 but rather the Dimensity 9400+, an upgraded version of the Dimensity 9400.

Instead, MediaTek will most likely launch the Dimensity 9500 chipset toward the end of the year, roughly around the same time it launched the 9400 back in 2024. Interestingly enough, that’s also about when Qualcomm will announce its next-gen flagship chipset. This presumably comes in the form of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2.

It will be interesting to see how the Gen 2 fares against the Dimensity 9500. Who knows, maybe if it’s on par, we will see more manufacturers turn to MediaTek for their chipset needs instead of paying Qualcomm’s higher prices.
