MAINGEAR’s New Gaming PCs Have Bleeding-Edge Liquid Cooling
In the world of desktop gaming PCs, there’s a lot of competition, but one company that stands above most if not all in the custom PC market is MAINGEAR, which has just announced its new Apex PC line at CES 2025.
Featuring “jaw-dropping aesthetics” and some bleeding-edge liquid cooling, the new Apex Force and Apex Rush are the culmination of MAINGEAR’s decades of experience in building custom gaming PCs. The company has been around since 2002, so it certainly knows a thing or two about building powerful rigs for our favorite pastime, which is gaming.
These desktops will be powered by NVIDIA’s latest powerful GPUs, as well as the latest top-tier CPUs from AMD and Intel. MAINGEAR doesn’t mention specific models for the graphics cards or processors. With the GPUs, chances are the company is referring to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50-series. After all, brands like Acer and Razer have already announced laptops sporting this series of GPUs. Which makes the RTX 50-series the latest NVIDIA has to offer.
MAINGEAR: The Apex of PC gaming
When it comes to building a really cool desktop gaming PC, MAINGEAR doesn’t mess around. The Apex Force and Apex Rush are the perfect example of this. With both PCs, there’s a lot of powerful tech on the inside to make you go “oooo and awwee” when you boot your games up. That being said, the liquid cooling setup on the inside should easily grab most of the attention. Putting the looks of the cooling system aside for a moment, what MAINGEAR has done to make it stand out really has nothing to do with the aesthetics.
It’s all about convenience and user-friendliness. If you’ve ever filled and/or drained your own liquid cooling tubes before, then you know how much of a pain it can be. MAINGEAR set out to correct this. And with the Apex Force and Apex Rush, it has.
It did this by adding easy-access drain and fill ports for the coolant. This should make it almost effortless to swap out the coolant if you need or want to. MAINGEAR even offers customer support to walk you through this process.
However, you shouldn’t have to use this, since it should be relatively easy and straightforward. Just know that it’s there if you need it. And if you really like customization, the Rush offers plenty of it both inside and out. Thanks to several options for tubing and painted chassis art.
Apex Force specs
When it comes to specs, the Apex Force is based on the Phanteks NV9 case. It can come with up to 48GB of T-Force Extreme RGB DDR5 8000MHz RAM, up to 8TB of storage, and various options for cooling configuration and power supplies. Speaking of customization, you can customize the tubing. For starters, MAINGEAR says you can choose from acrylic or metal hard tubing. The acrylic will let the coolant show through. But you might prefer metal for a more premium look. You get several options for fittings too.
The Apex Force is also positively filled to the brim with fans. How many fans? Lots of them. You get six 140mm x 30mm fans spread throughout the case to keep air flowing. These all have RGB as well. There are also 2 420mm x 60mm radiators, and MAINGEAR has even put in a separate GPU and CPU dual loop system. In short, temperatures shouldn’t be an issue. You can also customize the coolant colors with several options.
MAINGEAR also gives you a few motherboard options, with users being able to select from “Top-tier Z890 and X870E motherboards from Asrock, Asus, and MSI.” And because a messy-looking PC is never a good thing, MAINGEAR made it so motherboard cables aren’t visible thanks to its MG-RC rear connection setup.
Apex Rush specs
The Apex Rush isn’t too different from the Apex Force when it comes to components. There are a few things that change, such as the radiator size and the number and size of fans. However, the motherboard, storage, RAM, GPU, CPU, and power supply are all basically the same. Keep in mind that these are buildable PCs, so buyers get to select from various components. They’ll be the same options as the Force though.
The motherboard selection is the same, and you get up to 8TB of storage as well as up to 48GB of RAM. It is worth noting that this is the same 8000MHz RAM as the Force model. MAINGEAR will even bump it to 96GB just like the Force, but the RAM speed lowers to 6000MHz. Where things break away starts with some of the cooling. The radiators are 360mm instead of the 420mm x 60mm in the Force. There are seven fans in this case, but they’re 120mm instead of 140mm. This is mainly because the case is a mid-tower so there isn’t as much room.
Specifically, it’s the Lian-Li O11 EVO RGB. The other main difference is the custom chassis art. The Rush was designed to be a flashy set piece in addition to being able to pump out performance. There are three options here. Cyber Gamer, Good Fortune, and Vaporwave Drive. Cyber Gamer is like your Cyberpunk-themed case, while Good Fortune is an Asian-inspired design. It even features a cute Shiba-inu eating a bowl of ramen on one side. Lastly, there’s the Vaporwave Drive chassis art if you dig that Miami-at-night look.
Tubing is also a bit different as you can choose from soft vinyl and neoprene. You do however still get custom options for the fittings, including several color choices.
Pricing and availability
If you want a top-tier gaming PC, especially one that’s custom-built where components are hand-picked, you’re going to end up paying a lot. That’s the case here with the new Apex Force and Apex Rush.
They won’t be cheap, but they will be worth it if you have the budget for something like either of these powerhouses. MAINGEAR says the prices and availability will be available soon. Additionally, buyers can put down a fully refundable $100 deposit to secure their place in the build queue, and that $100 goes toward the final purchase price for the system.
