Lenovo’s New 8.8-Inch Android Tablet Packs Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 And 12GB RAM, Launches This Month For $499

Lenovo is launching one of the first small, yet powerful Android tablets we’ve seen in years with its new gaming-focused Lenovo Legion Tab which will be launching later this month.

The Lenovo Legion Tab is designed to offer a slightly larger, slightly cheaper Android gaming experience. It does this with an 8.8-inch display that has a 165Hz refresh rate at 2560×1600. The LCD display further has a 288Hz touch sampling rate and HDR10 support.

Under the hood, the Legion Tab is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. It also has a 6,550 mAh battery with two USB-C ports and 45W charging. To keep the device cool while gaming, it features the “Legion Coldfront Vapor Chamber.”

The tablet runs Android 14 out of the box with Lenovo’s “Legion Space” software and customizable settings for games. There’s no word on Lenovo’s update policy for this tablet just yet, but the company has been averaging 2-3 major Android updates on everything but it’s cheapest models as of late.

Legion Tab isn’t the first gaming tablet Lenovo has released, but it’s the first one coming to the US market, and it looks rather compelling even for those who aren’t gamers. Like Apple’s iPad Mini, this tablet offers a compact size without compromising on screen quality or performance, and without a gaudy over-the-top gaming design. That’s exciting, to say the least.

We’ll have a full hands-on with this tablet coming up soon from CES 2025.

The Lenovo Legion Tab will be available later this month starting at $499.
