Leaks Were Wrong, Here’s What Samsung’s Ultra-Thin Phone Will Look Like

During the Samsung Galaxy S25 series launch event yesterday, the company confirmed that the Galaxy S25 Edge is coming. That will be Samsung’s rumored ultra-thin phone, and it seems like the leaks were wrong, as it will look different than reported.

Samsung’s ultra-thin phone will be called the Galaxy S25 Edge, and it will offer a slightly different design

Just to be clear, this is the rumored Galaxy S25 Slim, it will have a different name. About a week ago, the very first alleged images of the device appeared. Those CAD-based renders essentially showed us a slimmer Galaxy S25+.

Well, it seems like they were wrong. Samsung teased the Galaxy S25 Edge during the event, and the phone’s design was also on display in San Jose, California, as you can see in the images below.

The front side of the phone is… well, basically the same as on the Galaxy S25+. Things start to look different when we flip it around, though. There are only two cameras on the back, not three as reported in the CAD-based renders.

If we had to guess, we’d say that these are main and ultrawide cameras. The camera island does protrude on the back, and yes, both cameras are a part of the same camera island, as is an LED flash. That’s also what differentiates this phone from its siblings.

This handset will be thinner than its siblings

The Galaxy S25 Edge will be thinner than all other Galaxy S25 phones, that’s seemingly its main selling point. Samsung did not share any specs just yet, though, we’ll have to wait in order to find out.

We’re not sure why Samsung went with the ‘Edge’ name, but there you go. You may recall Samsung’s ‘Edge’ devices of the past, which had screens curving onto the edges. This one doesn’t really have that, and the name doesn’t really make all that much sense, but there you go.

We’re not sure when will the device launch, but one rumor suggested it will happen in May. So, we’ll just have to wait and see.
