Here Are The Codenames For The 2026 Pixel Phones
We’re basically at the doorstep of the Samsung Galaxy S25 announcement, but it doesn’t mean that we can’t cover a little Pixel phone news. This year, we expect to see the Pixel 9a and Pixel 10 series of phones, but what about next year? Well, thanks to Android Authority, we have the possible codenames for the 2026 Pixel phones.
This is something you’ll want to take with a grain of salt, as it’s based on internal information that’s not publicly available. It would seem odd that someone was able to obtain information about a phone that won’t launch until well over a year from now. However, companies begin working on phones long before they’re announced.
We’re sure that production for the Pixel 10 was well underway before the Pixel 9 even hit the market. So, it makes sense that Google is already brainstorming next year’s Pixel phones.
The phones we’re talking about are the Pixel 11 series and the Pixel 10a. We see that Google has its attention turned to bears for the flagship phones. The codenames for the Pixel 11 are as follows: Pixel 11 (Cubs), Pixel 11 Pro (Grizzly), Pixel 11 XL (Kodiak), and Pixel 11 Pro Fold (Yogi).
Codenames don’t typically tell us much information about a device, but in this case, they tell us a lot. The names themselves don’t, but the leak speaks volumes. It lets us know that Google is at least planning on replicating the same lineup it brought with the Pixel 9 series. It could have a base, Pro, Pro XL, and Pro Fold model. Google rewrote Pixel history with this approach last year, and it looks like we’ll see the same thing this year and next.
Bear in mind (no pun intended) that these are only the codenames. We don’t know how far Google is in production on these phones, so there’s always the possibility of the company making changes.
As for the Pixel 10a, we have the codename “Stallion”. Again, this tells us that the Pixel “A” series isn’t going anywhere, which is less surprising. It’s been a staple in Google’s Pixel lineup for years and it manages to raise excitement and awareness for the Pixel brand each year.
