GTA VI Is Still On Track For A Fall 2025 Release, Says Take-Two

GTA VI was first announced back in December of 2023, and at the time Rockstar said in the game’s trailer that it would release in 2025. Since then, there hasn’t been much talk about the game’s launch, although there have been a few references to it. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick stated in May of last year that he was highly confident the game would launch in 2025, noting that he believes it’s still going to launch in the expected window that the publisher had been planning for.

A separate report predicted that it might be pushed back into 2026. Other than that, there’s been little else on the discussion of a launch date. Save for a few rumors trying to nail down a more specific time. In its latest earnings calls, Take-Two Interactive speaks briefly on the release of GTA VI, stating that it’s still on track to drop in Fall 2025.

GTA VI Fall 2025 release seems very likely now

GTA VI is without a doubt one of the most anticipated games right now. It’s certainly the most anticipated game of 2025. Assuming it still manages to launch this year. The good news for fans is that a Fall 2025 release seems very likely at this point. Now that Take-Two Interactive has reconfirmed this time frame, players can probably look forward to diving into the game’s world later this year.

There’s still no definitive date, of course. That being said, Fall 2025 will range from late September to late November. So if GTA VI launches in Fall 2025, it’s going to be sometime within those three months. “Looking ahead, this calendar year is shaping up to be one of the strongest ever for Take-Two, as we plan to launch…Grand Theft Auto VI in the Fall,” the company’s report said.

The slight pause seems almost as if it was for dramatic effect. Like the statement was being made to fans who look forward to playing the game and this is the first announcement about a date. In any case, fans are sure to be excited about this detail.

When will players hear more about the game?

That’s tough to say but there are a few possibilities. If GTA VI is launching in the Fall, Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar will likely reveal more about the game and confirm a date at least a few months ahead of time. From this moment on, there are three major game industry events in 2025 where this could take place. First up is GDC which takes place in March. This is more for Game Developers, however. So it might be the least likely time for an announcement.

Next up is June with Summer Games Fest. This is a lot like The Game Awards in December and often has tons of new and upcoming game reveals and trailers. This seems like the most likely time to show off a new GTA VI trailer. Lastly, there’s Gamescom which happens in August. Of course, this is all speculation, and it’s assuming Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar don’t decide to hold their own announcement outside of an event. Time will tell.
