Google To Mash Gemini Live With Another Popular AI Feature

Summary: Gemini Live could be getting a feature that’s similar to Circle to Search. This could allow users to circle specific content on their screens to narrow down what they want Gemini Live to look at. This is still in a very early build and not available to the public.
Google has been rapidly expanding what Gemini can do on your phone. This is all in an attempt to make it more of an agentic assistant. Recently, the company brought the screen-sharing feature to Gemini Live, and this took the experience to a whole new level.
However, Google is far from finished, as it’s looking to bring more features to its AI assistant. This next feature will see it share some similarities with another popular Google AI product.
Gemini Live could get a Circle to Search feature
We’re all familiar with Circle To Search. This is the feature that Google dangled over most of the Android space for 10 months. It’s an extremely useful feature, and the company is finding new ways to make it more useful. Well, it might actually help Gemini Live be a better assistant.
It’s important to note that this was discovered in an APK deep dive performed by AssembleDebug (via Android Authority). As such, it should be taken with a grain of salt. There’s no telling if Google plans to launch this feature officially. It would make sense, as it could be super useful. However, you never know.
If Google activates this feature, then Gemini Live could gain a feature similar to Circle to Search. In the video posted below, we see that when you activate the screen-sharing feature, you’ll see a pencil button pop up. When that happens, you’ll be able to circle on the screen what you want Gemini Live to focus on.
So, if there’s a lot happening on your screen, you can use this feature to narrow down what you want Gemini to answer questions about. AssembleDebug found this in the latest beta version of the Google app (v16.14.39 beta).
Right now, we don’t know when Google plans to launch this feature. However, Google I/O is around the corner, so we might hear more about it then.
