

Like on Android phones, Samsung will be responsible for the Quick Share experience on its Windows PCs.
With the latest update to the Quick Share Windows app, Google has introduced compatibility with Samsung’s Quick Share application.
Meanwhile, on Samsung laptops, Google will be deprecating its application in favor of the Samsung version. On May 28, the “Google Quick Share app on Samsung PCs will redirect the user to install the Quick Share app from Samsung.”
Work to streamline this has been in progress since early 2024, with Samsung originally targeting Q3 2024 for compatibility.
Here are the full release notes for version 1.0.2180.0 of Quick Share on Windows:
- Fixed an issue that caused the app to crash.
- Improved GATT advertising reliability.
- Renamed and rebranded the app from “Quick Share from Google” to “Quick Share” and introduced support for compatibility with Samsung’s Quick Share app. Support for the Google Quick Share app on Samsung PCs will be terminated on May 28, 2025, at which time the Google Quick Share app on Samsung PCs will redirect the user to install the Quick Share app from Samsung.
