Google Pixel 9a Specifications

Contents
The Google Pixel 9a has been announced, after quite a lot of leaked content over the last few months. With that being said, we’ve already talked about the Google Pixel 9a in the announcement, but are now here to take a closer look at its specifications. The Pixel 9a is a mid-range or budget phone, whatever you want to call it, though its specs are nothing to scoff at.
The Google Pixel 9a specifications are nothing to scoff at
The Pixel 9a is fueled by the Google Tensor G4 processor. That is Google’s 4nm chip, the same one that fuels the Pixel 9 flagships. It’s the exact same chip. It is also backed by the Titan M2 coprocessor. Google also included 8GB of RAM inside of this smartphone, while the phone comes in 128GB and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage options. That storage is not expandable, though, so take note of that.
Google opted for a 6.3-inch pOLED Actua display here. That panel is flat, and it offers fullHD+ (2424 x 1080) resolution. We’re looking at a 422.2 PPI here, and shit is a Smooth Display (60-120Hz refresh rate). The peak brightness that it can reach, in theory, is 2,700 nits, while HDR content is supported too. The Gorilla Glass 3 from Corning protects this display, by the way.
It has a notably larger battery than the Pixel 8a
A 5,100mAh battery powers the phone. It is notably larger than the unit inside the Pixel 8a. Google also offers 23W wired charging here, along with 7.5W (Qi) wireless charging. A charger is not included in the package, though. Android 15 comes pre-installed, and the company promised 7 years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates. That’s a considerable promise for a mid-range phone.
There is an in-display fingerprint scanner included here, of an optical variety. Face Unlock is also present, but it’s a regular face unlock that uses a front-facing camera, not 3D face unlock. The Pixel 9a is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance, while it comes with stereo speakers and two microphones. Its frame is made out of aluminum, and it has a plastic back cover. Bluetooth 5.3 is also on board, while the phone supports WiFi 6E and 5G connectivity. It also comes with a dual SIM setup (nano SIM + eSIM). Type-C USB 3.2 port sits at the bottom.
The main camera has a smaller sensor, but we won’t judge its performance just yet
A 48-megapixel main camera (Quad PD Dual Pixel with OIS and CLAF, f/1.7 aperture, 82-degree FoV, 1/2.0-inch sensor size) sits on the back. A 13-megapixel ultrawide camera (f/2.2 aperture, 120-degree FoV, 1/3.1-inch sensor size) is also included. You’ll find a 13-megapixel selfie camera (f/2.2 aperture, 96.1-inch sensor size) on the front. The main camera has a smaller sensor than the Pixel 8a’s main camera.
The Google Pixel 9a measures 154.7 x 73.3 x 8.9mm, while it weighs 185.9 grams. The device comes in Obsidian, Porcelain, Iris, and Peony color options.
