Google Photos Makes Dark Theme Support On The Web Available To Everyone

While its mobile app has had a dark theme for years, Google Photos has just made a dark mode available to all users through its web app.

As announced by Google, dark theme support for Google Photos on the web is now available to all users. Google says the feature was added following user feedback.

Users can toggle on dark theme support through Settings > Appearance, with a light theme apparently still being the default setting based on what we’re seeing on our machines.

Google says:

Dark mode is now available for Google Photos on web! We’ve launched this long-awaited new feature thanks to feedback from users like you.
Here’s how you can activate the feature:
Go to photos.google.com.
At the top, click Settings > Appearance.
Choose your color theme:
Light
Dark
Use device default

We first spotted dark mode rolling out in late January, with a pop-up over the Settings button appearing for some users at the time. With Google’s announcement, though, this feature appears to be widely available to all users.
