Google Is Making It Even Easier To Access AI Overviews

Right now, accessing Google’s AI Overviews is as easy as doing a Google Search. Well, it seems that the company isn’t satisfied with this, so it wants to give you yet another route to this feature. According to a new report, it looks like you’ll be able to access AI Overviews through Circle to Search.

This feature is rolling out to users at the moment, so there’s a chance that you won’t see it just yet. Also, it’s a server-side update, so you won’t see it by updating to the latest version of the Google app ( v16.11.36 beta).

You’ll be able to access AI Overviews through Circle to Search

People often find themselves summoning Circle to Search because of some of the text on their screen. Well, Google has some new tools for you to make Circle to Search more useful. When you use Circle to Search, you usually see a panel rise from the bottom of the screen with search results.

Well, if you get the update, you’ll notice something different about the panel. You’ll see an AI Overviews section above the typical results. It will give you a brief rundown of the text you just circled, but it will go further than that.

Under the rundown, you’ll see three buttons. These are Summarize text from image, Explain text from image, and Extract text from image. The last one is pretty self-explanatory. It will take the text from the image and display it in the results in a bullet point format.

The first two could be a little confusing without an explanation. Firstly, the Summarize button will create a detailed AI-generated summary of the text with bullet points. The thing about this button is that the results will incorporate information from the web to back up the summary.

On the other hand, the Explain button will also create a bit of a summary, but this one will mostly focus on the information present in the text. It will also explain other things that are visible in the image.

These are pretty handy tools to have, and they make Circle to Search much better. Hopefully, they don’t take long to roll out to everyone.
