With AI being such a big focus for most companies, you’re going to see brands trying to squeeze in elements of the technology anywhere they can. The same applies to Google, which has invested a lot of time, energy, and resources trying to get its AI model, Gemini, in front of as many eyes as possible through its products and services.

Of course, Google is on another level, since it has such a vast portfolio of software and hardware, making it harder to keep things in order when it comes to Gemini’s availability. So, while you might see Gemini available on Google’s web products, it might not yet be available on its Android counterparts.

Google Docs gets a huge lift

With that said, we’re happy to announce that Gemini is finally making its way to Google Docs on Android. Not only will this be available in English, but Google is also rolling out the features in 20+ languages, making it somewhat of a global release. Users will now be able to get instant summaries for any documents on Docs.

We previously saw this feature launch outside of Android back in March 2025. So, if you have a document with a lot of complex topics, or need something summarized into a short and concise piece of text, Gemini is now going to be able to handle that for you without having to copy-paste the source material.

To take things even further, users will also be able to ask questions about the content as well, making it easy to find what you’re looking for. The feature has now started rolling out to Rapid Release domains, and it will get an even wider release when it comes to Scheduled Domains starting on July 2, 2025.

As far as availability, the Google account will need to be on a Business or Enterprise Standard or Plus plan. Those with a Gemini Education and Education Premium account will also have access. There isn’t a need to do anything with your app, you should see the feature pop up when you have access.
