To date, AI Premium is how you access the latest features from Google. At I/O 2025, that subscription tier is being renamed to “Google AI Pro,” while we’re getting “Google AI Ultra” for $249.99 per month.
Google AI Pro will remain available for $19.99 per month (in the US) with higher rate limits compared to the free plan. You still get access to 2 TB of storage, Gemini 2.5 Pro, as well as Deep Research, and Veo 2 video generation.
The “Gemini Advanced” branding is gone. Also unchanged is Gemini in Workspace, NotebookLM Plus, and Whisk (Google Labs tool for remixing images + turning images into videos).
This tier will continue to get more capabilities. New features today include early access to Gemini in (desktop) Chrome, as well as the Flow AI filmmaking tool (with 100 generations per month) that’s powered by Veo 2 for creating cinematic scenes and stories.

Google AI Ultra can be thought of as VIP access to all the company’s AI features. In addition to all the features of AI Pro, you get 30 TB of storage for Gmail/Drive/Photos (which otherwise costs $149.99/month), while YouTube Premium individual ($13.99) is finally part of a bundle.
On the AI front, you get the “highest limits” in:
- Flow: Veo 3 with native audio generation and other premium features
- Whisk: image-to-video creation with Veo 2
- NotebookLM: Coming later this year and “best model capabilities”
- Gemini in Workspace
Meanwhile, you will get access to the upcoming 2.5 Pro Deep Think mode (not yet available) and Veo 3 in the Gemini app, as well as the experimental “Agent Mode” capability.
Meanwhile, Google AI Ultra is how you access the Project Mariner research prototype that can “assist you in managing up to 10 tasks simultaneously – from research to bookings and purchases – all from a single dashboard.”
Google AI Ultra is available starting today for $249.99 per month in the US. For the next three months, it costs $124.99. It’s coming to more countries soon.
Finally, free access to Google Al Pro for a school year is now coming to university students in Japan, Brazil, Indonesia, and the United Kingdom.
