Global Xiaomi 15 & Xiaomi 15 Ultra Flagships Are Now Official

Following the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra launch events in China, the company has just announced their global counterparts. This announcement comes as part of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona.

Global Xiaomi 15 & Xiaomi 15 Ultra models have been announced

The initial Xiaomi 15 launch occurred back in October last year, while the ‘Ultra’ model followed a couple of days ago. Well, now both smartphones have been presented to the rest of the world.

Needless to say, the ‘Ultra’ model is the one in focus here, while the vanilla variant is its smaller counterpart. Yes, the vanilla model is also inferior from the spec side of things, but it’s still a high-end smartphone.

They both have a flat frame all around (though it’s a bit different in terms of design), and both adopt a flat display with a centered display camera hole. The backplate on the Xiaomi 15 is completely flat, while it’s slightly rounded towards the edges of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.

Their rear cameras are considerably different

Their rear camera islands are vastly different. The one on the Xiaomi 15 is squarish and located in the top-left corner. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra includes a large camera oreo which is centered in the upper portion of the phone’s back.

Xiaomi’s HyperAI is also a part of the package. It has a number of useful features included, such as the ability to remove backgrounds in images, sharpen images, erase distracting elements, edit videos automatically, and so on.

Having said that, they’re both fueled by the same SoC and use the same RAM and UFS 4.0 units. There are some other similarities, but they’re mostly notably different spec-wise. Let’s see what those differences are, shall we?

Xiaomi 15 Ultra specifications

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, the most powerful chip from Qualcomm. It also comes with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 flash storage globally. That may differ in some markets, though.

A 6.73-inch WQHD+ (3200 x 1440) LTPO AMOLED display is used here. It’s flat, and it supports an adaptive refresh rate (1-120Hz). The peak brightness is 3,200 nits, while Dolby Vision and HDR10+ content are supported. This display also supports high-frequency PWM dimming.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra features

A 5,410mAh battery sits inside the phone, while the device supports 90W wired and 80W wireless charging. On top of that, 18W reverse wireless charging is supported. Android 15 comes pre-installed, along with HyperOS 2.0. Wi-Fi 7 is supported, as is Bluetooth 6.0.

Four powerful cameras sit on the back. A 50-megapixel main camera (Sony’s LYT-900 sensor, 1-inch sensor, f/1.63 aperture, OIS) is backed by a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera (115-degree FoV, f/2.2 aperture). A 50-megapixel floating telephoto camera (3x optical zoom, OIS, macro photography) is also included, as is a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto unit (1/1.4-inch sensor size, 4.3x optical zoom, OIS). On the front, you’ll find a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

Xiaomi 15 specifications

The Xiaomi 15 is fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite too. It offers up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 flash storage. The storage is not expandable, by the way.

A 6.36-inch LTPO AMOLED display is used here, with an adaptive refresh rate (1-120Hz). It’s flat and offers a resolution of 2670 x 1200. The peak brightness is 3,200 nits, while Dolby Vision and HDR10+ content are supported.

A 5,240mAh battery sits inside the phone, while the device supports 90W wired charging. 50W wireless charging is also supported here, as is reverse wireless charging. The phone comes with a charger, at least in most markets. Android 15 comes pre-installed, along with HyperOS 2.0. Wi-Fi 7 is supported, as is Bluetooth 6.0.
