Genki Made A Modular Charging Hub Capable Of 540W Output

Genki by Human Things has come up with a new charging hub called Moonbase that helps you declutter your desk and still have room to plug everything in. The Moonbase charging hub is modular by way of its optional modular accessories, one of which gives the Moonbase a 540W power output.

You might be familiar with Genki for some of its Nintendo Switch accessories. It’s the same brand that makes the tiny Covert HDMI dock for the Switch. It’s also the same brand that reportedly leaked the Nintendo Switch 2 design prior to Nintendo’s official reveal, although it wasn’t the only company to do so. Nor was it the first.

Putting the Nintendo Switch 2 accessories aside, the Genki Moonbase Hub is all about organization while retaining style. This hub is certainly a good-looking piece of hardware and it’s functional. With it, you get three AC outlets, plus four USB-C ports. The AC outlets are located on top, while the USB-C ports are on the side to make sure everything has room. Genki even spaced the AC outlets enough to accommodate charging bricks of multiple sizes.

The Genki Moonbase Hub can have even more ports

If you’ve ever struggled with not having enough ports to charge your stuff, then you know the importance of having as many as possible. The Moonbase already comes with the ability to charge up to 7 devices at once. But what if you could use it to charge even more devices at once? Genki appears to have thought of this. With the TurboCharger Expansion accessory, you can plug it into the Moonbase and Genki says this turns the Moonbase into a 540W, 10-port charging ultra hub.

To get the 10 ports, though, you’ll need three TurboCharger Expansions. Each would be plugged into the 3 AC outlets on the top. Each also has two USB-C ports and 100W of power output. So you get 10 total USB-C ports and 540W of maximum power output between the expansions and the Moonbase itself. The one downside to this is you give up all three AC outlets. This means you can’t use them for anything else that uses an AC plug. Limiting you to USB-C ports only.

Still, this could be extremely useful in certain situations. And it turns Moonbase into a powerful charging tool for all of your stuff. Plus, it looks a lot cooler than any other charging devices we’ve seen recently.

The Moonbase comes in two colors, and it’s up for pre-order

If you like the looks of this hub and you could use the organization, you can pre-order it now through Indiegogo. It comes in two colors, Moonlight and Darkside, and it starts at a pre-order price of $88 (It’ll be more after launch). It even has customizable RGB LEDs for the AC outlets to give it that extra style. Genki expects to begin shipping Moonbase by April of this year.
