Gemini Live’s Astra Screen Sharing Has A Nice Glow To It

Over the past few days, more reports of Gemini Live’s Astra-powered screen and video sharing have emerged with a look at the UI and its familiar glow.

After tapping the “Share screen with Live” button, a system-level “Start recording or casting with Google?” prompt appears to pick “Entire screen” or just one app.

Once active, Gemini Live is denoted by the call-style notification in the status bar and a blue waveform at the bottom. This Astra glow when screen sharing is similar to the one that appears around the Ask Gemini overlay and the fullscreen Live UI. Meanwhile, the glow reminds me of the Pixel 4-era next-gen Assistant with its four-color animation.

The video above shows Gemini Live taking its time for some responses and having trouble distinguishing the feed nature of what’s on the screen, while the analysis of the Siri screenshot was right on. Google’s Live screen sharing example at the start of this month used a single webpage (product listing) that wasn’t as busy.

This latest example shows Gemini Live screen sharing on a Samsung phone following Xiaomi. It looks like Astra will be available on all supported Android devices for users enrolled in Gemini Advanced rather than being limited to the Pixel or Galaxy S25 series.
