TL;DR

  • Google is bringing multi-extension support to Gemini.
  • The new feature allows the chatbot to perform actions across multiple extensions with a single prompt.
  • It is now available on Gemini for Android, web, and iOS.

Google just dropped a whole host of Gemini updates in tandem with the Galaxy S25 series launch. One of the new features, which the S25 trio are first to showcase, is support for new chaining actions.

Thanks to the update, Gemini will now be able to perform actions across multiple extensions with a single prompt from users. Google gives this example in its blog post — If you’re looking for a list of high-protein lunch ideas, you can ask Gemini for some recipes and then easily save them to a note directly on Samsung Notes or Google Keep. Similarly, you can ask Gemini to find a restaurant near you, text the address to a friend, and make a calendar entry for the meetup — all in one breath.

Starting today, Gemini will be able to take actions across Samsung apps on the Galaxy S25 series, including Samsung Calendar, Notes, Reminder, and Clock. However, multi-extension support is not limited to the Samsung flagships, and is rolling out to all Gemini users on the web, Android, and iOS.

Of course how well these new chaining actions work will depend on the Gemini extensions you have enabled. Each Gemini Extension can be toggled on or off individually. You can navigate to Settings > Extensions within the Gemini app on desktop or Android and enable them manually. Some Gemini Extensions like Flights and YouTube should already be enabled.
