The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite, as expected. The phone appeared on Geekbench in that configuration, thus confirming the chip it will include.

The Samsung SM-F966N appeared on Geekbench, a Korean variant of the phone. It popped up with a Snapdragon chip with two major cores clocked at 4.47GHz, which confirms not only the Snapdragon 8 Elite, but an overclocked version of it. In other words, it will have the same chip as the Galaxy S25 series phones.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy not final

This is clearly not a final product, though, as its single-core and multi-core benchmarking results are lower than they should be. The phone clocked 2,617 points in the single-core, and 9,369 in the multi-core test. Both of those results will be higher on the final build.

Unlike what’s reported for the Galaxy Z Flip 7, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to use that Snapdragon chip in all markets. That may not be the case for the Galaxy Z Flip 7, as it could include the Exynos 2500 in some markets.

The Exynos 2500 will, based on everything we’ve seen, be inferior to Qualcomm’s chip

The Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy is a very powerful chip, and the Exynos 2500 is expected to be inferior to it. So, it’s great news that at least the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will use the Snapdragon chip globally. Well, unless something drastically changed by launch.

Speaking of which, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 are both expected to launch in July. An event in early July has been tipped, even though Samsung still didn’t confirm anything in that regard.

Those two smartphones will launch alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE or possibly Galaxy Z Flip FE, we still don’t know its name. The company’s first tri-fold could also arrive, but it’s more likely it will launch later in the year.
