Foldable cameras are typically inferior compared to regular smartphones, but it’s been getting better. With its upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung is reportedly preparing a 200MP rear camera as well as a better camera for the inner display.
As previously rumored, Samsung is reportedly adding a 200MP main camera to the Galaxy Z Fold 7. That’s according to GalaxyClub, which adds that this new camera will be the same one found in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. While Samsung’s software processing does leave a lot to be desired, the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s camera is better than previous years.
Other cameras reportedly won’t change, with a 10MP telephoto camera, 12MP ultrawide, and another 10MP sensor on the outer display for selfies.
What is apparently changing is the camera on the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s inner display, which reportedly will be improved to some degree. The sensor may still be a mere 4MP, but the report claims that it will be “improved” somehow. Perhaps Samsung’s under-display tech is getting better, or there are other improvements. In any case, this is a place Samsung’s flagship foldable has been due for an upgrade.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to launch in July, and be one of Samsung’s biggest foldable upgrades in quite some time.
