If we go by the previous rumors, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be the company’s slimmest foldable phone yet. While we can’t independently confirm or deny it, the latest information from famed leaker @UniverseIce supports those claims and reveals how slim, wide, and big the Galaxy Z Fold 7 phone really is.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7’s overall dimensions revealed
When open, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 measures 158.4 x 143 x 3.9 mm, as per the leaker. If true, the Z Fold 7 is taller, wider, and slimmer than all previous foldable devices. For the sake of comparison, the Fold 6 measures 153.5 x 132.6 x 5.6 mm, while the Galaxy Z Fold SE is at 157.9 x 142.6 x 4.9 mm (via 9to5Google).
This breakdown suggests that the Z Fold 7, with only 3.9 mm in thickness when open, is noticeably slimmer than both the Z Fold 6 and Z Fold SE. However, if you compare the height and width of these devices, there isn’t a noticeable increment in the Fold 7. While foldable phones getting slimmer is a welcome trend, we hope it doesn’t come at the cost of performance. Either way, only time will tell whether it manages to become one of the best foldable phones of 2025, while still being the slimmest.
In the meantime, in another rumor posted by @UniverseIce, the bezels around the Galaxy Z Fold 7 are thinner than ever before on any of its previous foldable phones. Figuratively, the bezels of the inner display on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 are only 1 mm vs. 1.9 mm on its predecessor. At 1.2 mm, the screen bezels on the outer display of the device are also narrow.
When is the Galaxy Z Fold 7 coming?
Samsung hasn’t confirmed when its next-gen Galaxy Z Fold 7 will release, but if rumors are to be believed, the company is eyeing an early July release. This won’t be surprising, as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 also launched in the same month last year. But this time around, it’s reportedly planning to bring the Z Fold 7 launch date forward by a few days. Whatever that date may be, Samsung will release the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 at the same event, expected to take place in New York.
