A new leak shows off Samsung’s upcoming more affordable Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, which is just a recycled Galaxy Z Flip 6.
Samsung’s foldable phones have been getting more expensive in recent years, with Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 both bringing price increases despite hardly any meaningful improvements. In an answer to the demand for more affordable foldables, rumors have been swirling around a more affordable Galaxy Z Flip device coming out this year, and we’re now getting some more details on that device.
SammyGuru posted CAD-based renders of what is claimed to be the “Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE,” though the name hasn’t been directly confirmed as of yet. The device is virtually identical in design to the existing Galaxy Z Flip 6, which comes as no surprise. That means it has a smaller cover display and inner display compared to the rumored Galaxy Z Flip 7, which is said to be getting upgrades to both.
The only place this new device appears to differ from predecessors is in the dimensions, measuring in at 165.1 x 71.7 x 7.4mm. That’s narrower and thicker than the Galaxy Z Flip 6 which measured 165.1 x 71.9 x 6.9 mm. Not a drastic difference by any means, but it leaves room for some changes to the device, including perhaps a bigger battery like the Flip 7 is rumored to offer. Details, though, remain unclear. It is rumored that this device will be using an Exynos chipset and that it might not hit the market for a few months after the Flip 7.
More details are likely to come in the next few months.
