Galaxy S26 Ultra Won’t Feature Under-Display Camera After All

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra won’t feature an under-display camera after all, it seems. Well, at least if the latest rumor is to be believed. This information comes from PandaFlash, a tipster.

He claims that the recent rumor regarding the under-display camera is inaccurate. The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra won’t offer it, and neither will its successor. In fact, the tipster claims that the ‘Ultra’ models in the next 2-3 years almost certainly will not offer such tech.

If that info is accurate, Samsung has no plans to implement it in the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Galaxy S27 Ultra, and possibly even Galaxy S28 Ultra. The tipster claims that this decision has been made due to “poor results”, as under-display cameras never perform as well as normal cameras.

As a reminder, Samsung is using under-display cameras in its Galaxy Z Fold smartphones. It uses one on the main display. You do have another option on those foldables, however, the selfie camera on the cover display.

Samsung will likely stick with centered display camera holes, and regular cameras

So, if this information is accurate, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will stick to a centered display camera hole and a regular camera. It’s hard to image the Galaxy S26 Ultra having a display camera hole in the top-left or top-right corners.

A recent rumor also mentioned that Samsung may give the Galaxy S26 Ultra a significant battery boost, along with other Galaxy S26 phones. That rumor was quickly shot down by a tipster. The ‘Ultra’ model is tipped to have a 5,500mAh battery, at best, not a 7,000mAh unit which was initially mentioned.

The entire Galaxy S26 series is expected to arrive in January 2026. The Galaxy S25 models are brand new at this point, as they arrived last month. We’ll see many more Galaxy S26 rumors throughout the year.
