Galaxy S25 Slim May Not Be Available Through US Carriers

Multiple reports have revealed the existence of an alleged Galaxy S25 Slim. The device is said to be an Android alternative to the also leaked iPhone 17 Air/Slim. All signs point to the phone not being present at the Unpacked event on January 22 along with the other Galaxy S25 models. It’s also possible that US carriers won’t offer the Galaxy S25 Slim.

Although many people now prefer to purchase carrier-free mobile devices, the carrier-locked mode is still popular in the US. Telecoms offer more payment facilities for the device and its services in exchange for you only being able to use it with them. Most major releases are usually available in both modes in the North American market. This is also expected to be the case for the upcoming Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra.

US carriers will not offer the Galaxy S25 Slim, tipster claims

However, a report from @evleaks claims that US carriers will not offer the Galaxy S25 Slim in their catalog. “One thing I will say about this model, whatever it ends up being called: it will almost certainly not be offered through US carriers,” reads the post on X/Twitter.

One can intuit a couple of interesting things from the report regarding the device. The first and most obvious is the potential unavailability of carrier-locked versions in the US. It’s not clear if the post is referring to the phone simply not coming to the US market or if Samsung will only sell it as a carrier-free device. No leaks related to the device have mentioned that it won’t be coming to the US, so if you’re interested, you can stay calm for now.

The other interesting aspect has to do with the product’s commercial name. So far we’ve been knowing it as the “Galaxy S25 Slim,” but its actual moniker could be different. Something similar happened with the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, which the leaks called “Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition.” It could even happen with the alleged iPhone 16E, which for a long time leakers called the “iPhone SE 4.”

Either way, the Galaxy S25 Slim aims to be a slim and powerful flagship phone. Samsung, unlike Apple, wants to keep hardware compromises to a minimum. This means that the device will not be as thin as that of the Cupertino giant’s. However, the first “Galaxy S Slim” may make up for it with more battery and a powerful camera setup.
