Galaxy S25 Series’ March Security Update Arriving In More Countries

Last week, Samsung began rolling out the March 2025 security update to the Galaxy S25 series, the second update for those devices since their release. However, for a few days, only units in South Korea were receiving it. Now, the company is expanding the patch’s availability to more regions around the world.
Users of the Galaxy S25 lineup have had the “privilege” of enjoying One UI 7 exclusively for weeks. In fact, to this day, they remain the only Galaxy S flagships running a stable version of the update. Samsung has launched some mid-range and low-end phones with One UI 7 in recent weeks, but the experience is not exactly the same. Interestingly, the Galaxy S25 models were not given “priority” during the rollout of the March patch.
March 2025 security update reaches the Galaxy S25 series in more regions
Anyway, after sending it to devices like the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6/Z Flip 6, and even mid-rangers, Galaxy S25 devices are finally getting the OTA. According to SamMobile, Samsung is now rolling out the update in the US, Europe, and India under the base build number S938BXXS1AYC2. This build number may vary slightly depending on the region. For example, the update detected in Europe is labeled as S93xBXXS1AYC2.
The second update for the Galaxy S25 series only includes the March 2025 security patch. Don’t expect any new features, but these phones don’t need them either—for now. After all, they already run Android 15-based One UI 7 out of the box. Regarding the patch, it fixes up to 58 vulnerabilities potentially exploitable by attackers. Samsung includes its own fixes for seven security holes on Galaxy devices. The rest comes from Google for Android’s core.
Lastly, the OTA weighs around 580 MB. You should receive a notification once it’s available on your phone. However, you can try to speed things up by manually checking from Settings > System Update > Download and Install.
