Samsung has started rolling out the very first software update to the Galaxy S25 series. This update has started to roll out in the company’s homeland, Korea, but it will quickly spread to other markets.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is getting its very first software update
It is focused on security improvements. It brings the latest security patch to the table, the one for February 2025. All three phones are getting the update, the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra.
The update size is 585.9MB in the case of South Korea. That the size could differ a bit in order markets. The firmware version in this particular case is S93xNKSU1AYB3.
Now, in addition to security improvement, some optimizations are also included here. Not all details have been shared just yet, but it seems like the camera and calling experiences should be more stable now.
This update is based on Android 15 and One UI 7, of course
The information is based on machine translation, so take it with a grain of salt. We’ll know more about the update itself once it reaches global markets. It’s not a major update, though, that’s for sure. It is also based on Android 15 and One UI 7, of course.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 series devices actually launched with One UI 7 out of the box. All three phones arrived last month, while the fourth member, the Galaxy S25 Edge, is expected to arrive in April or May.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra stands out, as expected, but these are all iterative improvements over the Galaxy S24 series, at least as far as the design and specifications are concerned.
We’ve already reviewed the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy 25+ in one article, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra review is separate, in case you’d like to know more about the devices.
