Galaxy S25 Series Finally Gets The March 2025 Security Update

Buyers of the Galaxy S25 series can boast of being among the first to try One UI 7. However, interestingly, the devices didn’t have “priority” during the rollout of the latest available security patch, as they still have the February one. Samsung is finally solving that by starting to send the March 2025 security update to the Galaxy S25 lineup.

Galaxy S25 series users have been enjoying all the new features and the new design of the Android 15-based One UI for weeks. So, they don’t have too many complaints about it—unlike those who have been waiting for the update for months. Now, the Galaxy S25 series will become more secure after receiving their latest available OTA.

March 2025 security update now reaching the Galaxy S25 lineup

As reported by SamMobile, the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra are starting to get the March 2025 security update. The new firmware is being seen first in South Korea, the company’s home country. The OTA has build number S938NKSUAYC3 and weighs around 577 MB. The file size might suggest that Samsung has included some new features. However, the changelog only refers to the implementation of the latest monthly security fixes.

This is the second update the Galaxy S25 series has received since its arrival in stores. The first brought the February 2025 security file, some bug fixes, and performance optimizations.

Regarding the March security update, it resolves up to 58 security holes. Google contributed most of the fixes for Android’s core, while Samsung patched up to seven vulnerabilities that only affected its Galaxy products.

According to recent reports, Samsung has canceled all intermediate One UI 7 updates. The next update now is expected to be a direct jump to Android 16-based One UI 8. Some internal test builds have even been detected in recent weeks. That said, we’re likely many months away from Samsung’s next big update for Galaxy devices. Meanwhile, One UI 7 will arrive on the Galaxy S24 series and the Galaxy Z Fold 6/Z Flip 6 from April 7.
