Fitbit Rolls Out Health Metrics Redesign On Android

After starting last week, Fitbit for Android has now widely rolled out a redesign of the Health Metrics stat page.

Besides matching the style of all other stats (except for Food), Health Metrics is now a native experience instead of a webpage. Upon tapping the Today card (which is unchanged), you’re greeted by the new layout that starts with the five-part personal range dial.

The checkmarks next to Breathing rate (BR), Blood oxygen (SpO2), Resting heart rate (RHR), Heart rate variability (HRV), and Skin temp variation are gone, with the actual data appearing much larger at the right.

Old vs. new

Selecting a stat lets you see Week, Month, and Year charts, with the specific values and “About” explanations listed below. One downside of this redesign is how you don’t get to see all five graphs (7, 30, and 90 days) on the same page for quick scrolling.

As of Tuesday, version 4.39.2 of Fitbit for Android is widely available in the Play Store with the new Health Metrics. After updating, the redesign takes a moment to load and you might need to Force stop the app. You’ll see a splash screen before the new experience opens.
