Alongside the Pixel (Feature) Drop today, Google is announcing the latest Android features for Spring/March 2025, with Find My Device ‘People’ sharing and Android Auto games leading the way.
To date, Find My Device has just been for phones, tablets, watches, headphones, and trackers. The Android app is now getting a “People” tab, which is currently in beta.
That new section prominently “shows you where your friends are in a map view.” The sheet below that is a list of people, their location, and proximity with filters for “Sharing with you” and “You’re sharing with” up top.
Tap the map FAB (floating action button) to share your real-time location. A card provides a preview of what you’ll be sending with the ability to quickly set a duration. From the sheet below, you select who you want to share with. Link-based sharing is also available.
This is essentially the functionality available in Google Maps, which is still powering everything.
Location data is safely stored and you decide who sees your location and for how long — with regular reminders about the people you’re sharing with.
Find My Device is following the direction of other services/platforms in adding people sharing. A consolidated app is a good idea, but it now probably needs a new name.
Meanwhile, Android Auto is adding gaming apps beyond the GameSnacks collection. Available when you’re parked, eligible titles already installed on your phone will appear in Android Auto displays. This includes: Farm Heroes Saga, Candy Crush Soda Saga, Angry Birds 2 and Beach Buggy Racing.
With the Pixel Drop Drop, Google is rolling out real-time Scam Detection in Google Messages that works on-device. AI is leveraged to “flag conversational text patterns commonly associated with scams, so you can identify messages that seem harmless, but turn dangerous over time.”
In conversation, you’ll get a new “Scam Detection” card that says “Likely scam: Suspicious activity detected. Common scams often start this way.” You can “Report & block” or tap “Not a scam.”
This feature can help protect you before you lose money or sensitive information.

Finally, Google is highlighting price insight capabilities in Chrome. A button appears next to the address bar when an eligible product is detected.
