![does-the-galaxy-watch-8-‘squircle’-design-appeal-to-you?-[poll]](https://betadroid.in/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/24343-does-the-galaxy-watch-8-squircle-design-appeal-to-you-poll.jpg)

To much surprise, the Galaxy Watch 8 is likely to come in a “squircle” design rather than a circle, as most other Galaxy Watches have before it. So, how are we feeling about this new change?
Prior to the release of the Galaxy Watch Ultra, every single model had been designed to be some sort of circle. There were plenty of variations, from Classic models with a moving bezel to Pro editions with bigger batteries. In either case, the Galaxy Watch was a circle.
Recent leaks indicate that the Galaxy Watch 8 is going to be released soon, and instead of Samsung coming full circle back to the round design, the company looks to be repeating the previous premium design with a small twist. The Galaxy Watch 8 will likely be a square/circle shape for both models with a rotating bezel for the Classic edition.
Users are getting what they wanted, right? The bezel is coming back!

In reality, the Classic design is coming back in bits and pieces, and the Galaxy Watch 8 might take on a very similar shape to the Galaxy Watch Ultra. That isn’t to say that’s a terrible thing. While the Galaxy Watch Ultra did garner some criticism early on, we’ve grown to very much like the design, whether or not it can decide if it’s round.
It seems like the community is torn, and expectedly, a lot of users wanted the Classic design and rotating bezel to come back in a model that didn’t deviate too far from the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic.
The Classic edition was always meant to be the more dressy version of the series, and the above designs struggle to capture that. It still looks like the Ultra, and doesn’t deviate much from a design Samsung is already using.
Further, it also seems that the Galaxy Watch 8 base models are taking on a similar design. Renders for those models have not become available, but leaked firmware images showcase two designs, and both are squared off.

What’s the verdict?
If all of the leaks are, in fact, true, what’s your take on the design? Is it something that you’d be interested in buying or does Samsung need to revert back to developing circular watches?
Remember, the squircle Galaxy Watch 8 Classic is rumored to only be coming in one size, while the Galaxy Watch 8 will have the traditional 40mm and 44mm sizes with a similar shape, allegedly.
Beyond the poll, feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below. There is a lot of nuance to this new design trend, and we think there’s more to dive into here.
