Delta Airlines Upgrading To 4K Seatback Screens, Adding YouTube Premium And Music

At CES 2025, Delta Airlines has announced new efforts to improve the in-flight experience with 4K screens that offer YouTube Premium and YouTube Music.

Delta Airlines is refreshing its fleet with new seatback screens that offer 4K HDR QLED, upping the quality significantly for in-flight entertainment. Delta says these new displays will appear in its planes starting in 2026. It’s unclear if these high-resolution screens will be available in all seat classes. Another upgrade is Bluetooth connectivity, which will be available to all cabins for pairing personal headphones.

For its SkyMiles customers, too, Delta says it will offer ad-free YouTube Premium viewing as well as access to YouTube Music while on flights, which Delta said would start to arrive “this year” during its press conference.

The airline also says that it will be improving Wi-Fi connectivity as a whole, which would certainly play a role in making this YouTube partnership possible. There will also be a new “recommendation engine” for other content available on the flight. The seatback displays will also feature a “Do Not Disturb” button for when passengers are sleeping.

Other announcements from Delta at CES 2025 include a new AI “Delta Concierge” feature for the Delta app, linking to Uber for gaining SkyMiles, and plans to build more fuel-efficient airplanes with Airbus.
