Chipolo Bids Farewell To ‘Point’ Bluetooth Trackers With A Big Card Clearance

Summary
- The newly announced Chipolo Pop can switch between Apple and Android tracker networks, leading to the Card Point being discontinued.
- While supplies last, you can save up to half-off the original price.
- The Chipolo Card Point is thin, loud, and water-resistant, but the battery isn’t replaceable — although it lasts two years, and Chipolo offers a recycling program and subsequent discount.
The Android Find My Device Bluetooth tracker network is a year old. With its slow rollout now ancient history, and performance finally rivaling AirTags’, there are more trackers to choose from than ever. Pebblebee’s original lineup of Android trackers was sunset months ago in favor of Universal trackers that can switch between Apple’s and Google’s networks, and Chipolo announced yesterday it’s following suit with the new Chipolo Pop.
In more evidence of the company’s commitment to moving forward, the Chipolo One Point keychain is essentially impossible to find, other than bundled with a Card Point from some third-party retailers. With no word yet on a dual-purpose card version of the Pop, though, you can still find the Card Point by itself on Chipolo’s website, as well as Amazon and Best Buy. If that’s the form factor you need, you’re in luck, with discounts on remaining stock reaching as high as 50% off MSRP (Source: 9to5Google).

One Bluetooth tracker to rule them all
And on either network, find them

Before you get your hopes up, you will need to choose either the Apple or Android network during setup. No Bluetooth trackers can connect to both simultaneously, and we’ll probably never see any that do. But you can freely switch the Chipolo Pop between the two. Plus, Chipolo’s free companion app provides genuinely useful features the default Find My Device app doesn’t support yet, like reverse phone finding, a camera shutter button, and out-of-range alerts so you don’t lose your stuff in the first place.

If you don’t need any of those fancy features and like the credit card-like form factor, consider stocking up on the Card Point. It’s nearly half-off at Best Buy, and 30% below sticker price at Amazon and from the manufacturer. Stock won’t last forever, though, and there’s no indication yet of a new dual-purpose card tracker arriving anytime soon. The original Chipolo One and Card trackers, compatible exclusively with Chipolo’s app, are also seeing steep discounts, in case you’re not attached to the crowdsourced network functionality as much as the Chipolo app’s helpful features.
The Chipolo Card Point measures just 2.4mm thick, with a 105dB alarm, IPX5 water resistance, and a two-year battery that never needs charging. You also can’t replace the battery, but Chipolo offers a Recycle & Renew program that nets you a 50% discount when replacing Cards that are about to bite the dust.

Android Bluetooth trackers don’t get much thinner than the Chipolo Card Point. It works with the Find My Device app to help keep tabs on backpacks, purses, laptop cases, or anything else where a 2.4mm-thick card can fit. It’s been discontinued in favor of the new Chipolo Pop, but you’ll find it at a big discount while supplies last.
