Unihertz, a brand known for offering phones in compact form, with QWERTY keyboards, and rugged designs, is all set to launch the successor to the Titan Android smartphone. The company has started teasing its upcoming device, the Unihertz Titan 2, which appears to be a spiritual successor to the BlackBerry Passport that launched more than a decade ago.
The Unihertz Titan 2 will flaunt a design inspired by BlackBerry devices
Unihertz is once again appealing to BlackBerry fans with the upcoming Titan 2, which could serve as a spiritual successor to the Passport smartphone. The company has created a new teaser page for the phone on its website, revealing its design from the front. As you can see in the image, the Titan 2 has a recognizable passport-size design, with a large physical QWERTY keyboard, and a square (or close to it) screen.
Similar to the original BlackBerry Passport from 2014, the Unihertz Titan 2 also has a somewhat unusual aspect ratio. Above the QWERTY keyboard, the device also has a bar with six additional buttons to offer easier navigation. It also has a selfie camera that’s located in the top-right corner above the screen, just like the BlackBerry Passport.
Unihertz hasn’t yet shared anything about the technical specifications of the Titan 2. The company will launch a crowdfunding campaign for the phone on Kickstarter at some point in June. Further details on availability and pricing are also not available at the moment.

The Titan 2 will be the successor to the Titan, which also has a QWERTY keyboard
Unihertz’s upcoming Titan 2 will be arriving as the successor to the Titan (review) handset. The predecessor also has a QWERTY keyboard, but in a more rugged body. It offers a robust and durable design, with an IP67 rating for water, dust, and shock resistance. The phone features a 4.5-inch LCD display, a single camera on both the rear and front, and a front-mounted fingerprint sensor. Other highlights include a MediaTek Helio P60 SoC, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a 6,000mAh battery.
The Titan 2 could deliver a more powerful processor, the latest Android experience, additional rear cameras, and improved fast charging capabilities. With the new upgrades, Unihertz could price it higher than the Titan, which is selling for $319.99. We’ll find out more soon, so stay tuned.
