Best Of CES 2025: Hisense 136MX MicroLED TV

Taking home a “Best of CES 2025” award, Hisense’s massive 136-inch MicroLED TV marks a new era of immersive home entertainment.

MiniLED TVs are cool, but the future is MicroLED. And Hisense took CES 2025 as its opportunity to announce its first consumer MicroLED TV. Hisense has shown off MicroLED TVs before – in fact, I saw a couple at IFA last year. However, the 136MX is the first that will be available to consumers in the coming months. Pricing is not yet available, however.

It’s not just Hisense’s first MicroLED TV for consumers, but one of the first in the world. And this is a big one, so expect a big price tag. This is a 136-inch MicroLED TV, and luckily I saw this after the 116-inch TriChroma MiniLED TV because it blows away the TriChroma TV. This TV can also reach up to 10,000 nits of peak brightness and covers around 95% of the BT.2020 color gamut. That is rather impressive at that brightness. Now you can watch darker shows like Game of Thrones or Ruthless with ease. No matter how bright it is in the room.

Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+, Filmmaker Mode, Dolby Atmos, the 136MX has it all

Of course, with something like a 136-inch MicroLED TV, you’d expect Hisense to toss everything into this TV, and they did just that. For picture quality, this includes Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+, and Filmmaker Mode, which can provide you with the best picture quality possible. As well as allowing you to watch the show or movie the way the Filmmaker intended.

On the audio side, this includes Dolby Atmos, DTS:Virtual X, and an impressive sound system built into the TV that is going to deliver rich audio. Eliminating the need for a soundbar.

Surprisingly, the Hisense 136MX does not run on Google TV, but instead uses Hisense’s proprietary OS, VIDAA. This does provide you with access to all of your favorite streaming services like Netflix, Hulu and more. There’s also support for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
