Best Buy May Have Leaked The Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Order Date

Summary: Best Buy Canada has reportedly leaked the pre-order date for the Nintendo Switch 2 console. The date was mentioned in a blog post that has since been removed from Best Buy Canada’s website.
The full reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2 is arriving in short order, and as it turns out, the pre-order date may be doing the exact same thing. According to reports from the morning of March 27, Best Buy Canada may have accidentally leaked the pre-order date for the Nintendo Switch 2 console. The date was allegedly leaked via a Best Buy Canada blog post. That post has since been taken down.
However, the blog post wasn’t removed before the information was made publicly available online, and the details spread like wildfire. Nintendo will most likely reveal the launch date and the pre-order date for the upcoming console during its dedicated Direct live stream on April 2. Nintendo also held a Direct livestream today where it revealed the Virtual Game Card feature.
For now, the launch date and when it will be available to pre-order have only been the subject of speculation and rumor. Most rumors have suggested the console is likely to launch around June. While some have suggested it could launch as early as April or as late as September.
The Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order date could be April 2
According to Best Buy Canada’s now removed blog post, the pre-order date for the Switch 2 will be April 2. This is the same day Nintendo is holding the Direct live stream for the console. So, it wouldn’t be too out there for it to open pre-orders on the same day. That being said, it’s still unclear whether this date was correct or not. Best Buy Canada pulling the blog post does seem to suggest that it may have been correct. And that it simply published the details before it was supposed to.
With the Nintendo Direct coming up next Wednesday, though, it won’t be long before we likely have more information.
No pricing information was mentioned
While the original blog post is no longer active, there was little else to glean from it beyond when you can place your pre-order. There was no pricing information made available. That means in terms of cost, all there is to go off of are past rumors. The Nintendo Switch 2 is suspected to cost around $399.99, though some believe it could be closer to $499.99.
