Audio-Technica’s Latest Earbuds Offer 25 Hours Of Battery Life
Audio-Technica announced its next-gen earbuds during CES 2025, boasting best-in-class battery life. The ATH-CKS50TW2 has a very unfriendly marketing name—just like Sony’s earbuds/headphones—but they have a lot to offer in terms of audio quality and features.
Battery life is a main highlight of Audio-Technica’s next-gen earbuds
One of the Audio-Technica ATH-CKS50TW2’s main highlights is its battery life. In an industry where these products offer around 10 hours of playback, the ATH-CKS50TW2 packs a punch with up to 25 hours of music playback on a single charge. If you enable ANC, that number drops to 15 hours, which is still impressive. The charging case offers an additional 40 hours of playback—25 hours with ANC.
The earbuds also boast the Magnetic Switch tech that will save you even more battery. Normally, TWS earbuds require you to place them in their charging case to turn them off. However, you can turn off the ATH-CKS50TW2 by snapping the two buds together thanks to a system of built-in magnets, even when you don’t have the charging case with you. The earbuds will turn back on as soon as you separate them.
As for sound quality, Audio-Technica claims that its next-gen earbuds use 9mm high-definition custom drivers. The firm promises that they can “deliver clear, full-range audio with deep, powerful bass.” There’s support for hybrid active noise cancellation, as well as hear-through and talk-through modes for when you need to stay aware of your surroundings. A pair of high-performance MEMS microphones will enable crystal-clear calls.
Audio-Technica’s dedicated A-T Connect app lets you tweak multiple parameters of the earbuds. From there you can enable low-latency mode, adjust EQ bands, and find your lost headphones in the room by making them emit a loud sound. There’s also Multipoint pairing support for connecting the ATH-CKS50TW2 to two devices at once. The earbuds have a Soundscape mode that plays nature sounds for times when you want to relax or focus.
Other features include Qi wireless charging, an IP55 rating, and a customizable physical button. Likewise, there’s support for Siri and Google Assistant for greater versatility on any mobile OS.
