Apple reportedly designing low-power chips for its smart glasses

As reported by Bloomberg, Apple’s smart glasses will include cameras, microphones, and AI features. This is similar to what the current Ray-Ban Meta offers. They will likely support functions such as taking photos, recording videos, real-time translation, and asking questions to the AI ​​assistant, among others. The Cupertino giant could also integrate an AI-powered Visual Intelligence version for glasses. This feature would basically allow you to get descriptions and useful information about objects in your environment.

The product would even allow for spatial video recording thanks to the presence of multiple cameras. Regarding the smart glasses’ chips, they would be similar to those in Apple Watch devices. This type of hardware is ideal for this type of product thanks to its very low power consumption.

Apple is expected to launch its first smart glasses in 2026 or 2027. The company is not only working on this product but also on XR headsets. There’s a more affordable version of the Apple Vision Pro in development. Moreover, the development of the Vision Pro 2 project continues, albeit with delays.
