AMD’s Ryzen 9 9950X3D And 9900X3D Go Up For Sale At Newegg

AMD officially announced its latest gaming processors – the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and the Ryzen 9 9900X3D – earlier this month, and now both are up for sale over at Newegg. AMD’s newest processors are likely to be just as popular as AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D, which has so far been the most popular gaming processor for the majority of PC gamers. It’s been widely considered the best processor for gaming, and AMD‘s follow-ups in the Ryzen 9 family are more powerful. Expect them to be highly sought after for a while.
The new processors retail for $699.99 and $599.99, respectively. So, these aren’t cheap processors. Newegg also won’t be the only retailer carrying them. At the moment, though, it does seem to be one of the only major retailers with any in stock. These should eventually pop up at Best Buy and Amazon. Amazon has a listing, but you can’t actually add it to the cart. B&H Photo also has a listing for both processors, but they’re listed as out of stock as well.
Newegg currently has the Ryzen 9 9950X3D for sale in a combo only
There’s good news and bad news for those trying to get their hands on AMD’s new processors. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D, the more powerful of the two, is currently only available in a bundle. The processors launched this morning and, unsurprisingly, went out of stock rather quickly. The retailer recently posted on X that it had restocked both models. However, it seems you can only buy the Ryzen 9 9900X3D as a standalone item.
In its post, Newegg does mention, however, that it may take a few minutes for the page to refresh properly and reflect the currently available stock. That being said, I’ve refreshed the page on the 9950X3D several times, and it still shows as out of stock. So either the standalone processor option went out of stock again just as quickly as it came in, or Newegg only restocked the processor in bundles.
It is worth noting that the post on X is now more than 35 minutes old, but I did check right after it went up since I have Newegg’s alerts on and saw the post when it was fresh.
You can still pick up the Ryzen 9 9900X3D and the Ryzen 7 9800X3D
If you aren’t keen on spending a minimum of $980 for the processor and a compatible motherboard, you can opt for one of the other processors. As mentioned, the Ryzen 9 9900X3D is still in stock at Newegg as a standalone item. You can also still get the Ryzen 7 9800X3D if you want to save even more money. This processor is still an exceptional processor for gaming, and it retails for $479.
Both Newegg and Amazon have stock of the older processor model. Depending on where you order from, it may take longer to get. For me, buying on Amazon shows it could arrive as late as April 14, more than a month out. Newegg, on the other hand, shows delivery by March 14 with fast delivery and March 18 without. So, Newegg appears to be faster.
