If you’ve tried to use YouTube TV on your Roku in the past day only to find the app has disappeared, you’re not alone, and there’s a potential fix available too.
Over the past 24 hours a number of Roku owners have flooded Reddit (1, 2, 3), Google (1, 2, 3), and Roku forums over the same issue. The YouTube TV app for Roku had suddenly vanished from their homescreen and it wasn’t available to be restored. The issue has been quite widespread, and the exact cause is unclear.
Thankfully, though, there does appear to be an easy fix.
A Roku community moderator recommends that users try checking for Roku OS updates if their YouTube TV app disappears. For many, it seems that updating to a newer OS version, for some reason, restores the app. It’s still not clear what has happened here, but the solution seems to imply it’s an issue on Roku’s end, perhaps with the issue lying in the Roku store on outdated OS versions.
