Summary: The Vivo X200 Ultra camera samples are in, and they look great. We get to see the phone in action in rather challenging conditions here. Three images have been shared, showing its performance in both low-light and daylight, plus an extra mix of both. This phone will use two imaging chips.
The Vivo X200 Ultra is coming in the near future, and some camera samples have just surfaced to show us what the phone can do. These shots have been published by Han Boxiao, the CEO of Vivo. He published them via Weibo.
The Vivo X200 Ultra camera samples look… great as expected
You can see the three camera shots below this paragraph. Do note that they have been compressed, but you can see the originals via the link above. We have a low light landscape here, a photo inside an ice cave of some sort, and a daytime landscape shot here.
Do note that these three shots have been captured by the phone’s ultrawide camera. Vivo will use the Sony LYT-818 1/1.28-inch sensor for the phone’s ultrawide camera, the same one as for the main camera.
He also decided to throw some shade on other phones. Vivo’s CEO said that he took the same pictures with other phones, but that the difference was too noticeable, so he didn’t post them. He said it “would be too unfair”. He is Vivo’s CEO, though, so… keep that in mind. All three of these images look great, realistic, and yet properly exposed and filled with details.
Vivo’s CEO did share a comparison with the iPhone 16 Pro Max last week
About a week ago, Vivo CEO also shared some camera sample comparisons with the iPhone 16 Pro Max and Canon 5D Mk IV. You can see those three images below (compressed). The iPhone is first, then Canon, and the image from the Vivo X200 Ultra is last.
The iPhone 16 Pro Max did the worst job here, easily, as the subject is underexposed, while the colors in the back are also off. Canon did a great job as expected, as did the Vivo X200 Ultra. It offers plenty of color and details, while the focus is on the subject. The background blur is just right, and yet the colors are nicely preserved.
As a reminder, the Vivo X200 Ultra will actually use two dedicated imaging chips. The Vivo X3+ will serve as a classic ISP, while the Vivo XS1 will work as a pre-ISP. That will be interesting to see in action.
Do note that the Vivo X200 Ultra could likely be a China exclusive, but we’re not sure yet.
