UPDATE: It seems like the Vivo X200 Ultra will not get a global model after all. “Vivo team member” confirmed that the report was fake, according to Abhishek Yadav. The phone will likely remain exclusive to China once it launches.
Summary: The Vivo X200 Ultra and Vivo X200 Pro mini are tipped to arrive in global variants after all. The report comes from India, as both phones are expected to launch there. This means that you’ll be able to import a variant of both of these phones with Funtouch OS pre-installed, instead of OriginOS, which is reserved for China. Vivo still didn’t confirm anything, however.
According to a new report, the Vivo X200 Ultra will get a global model after all. The same goes for the ‘mini’ flagship. This report actually comes from India, as both of those phones are said to become available in the country.
The Vivo X200 Ultra is expected to arrive in a global variant after all, as is its ‘mini’ counterpart
If this is true, and both phones do end up coming to India, that automatically means global models will be out there. The moment phones leave China they get global software pre-installed, in this case, Funtouch OS. Vivo’s phones run OriginOS in China.
The news has been shared by BW Businessworld, by the way. The Vivo X200 Pro’s strong sales may have something to do with Vivo’s decision here. The Vivo X200 Ultra was earlier reported to be a China exclusive.
Just because the phone is coming to India, does not mean it will be available in many other markets, though. You’ll be able to import a variant with global software, though, so that’s always an option.
The Vivo X200 Pro is one of the best camera smartphones in the market
The Vivo X200 Pro is considered to be one of the best camera smartphones in the market. We can attest to that, as we said in our Vivo X200 Pro review. This is one of the best camera smartphones out there, if not the best one.
The Vivo X200 Ultra is expected to bring that camera prowess to an even higher level. Two 1/1.28-inch camera sensors are tipped for main and ultrawide cameras, and a 1/1.4-inch type camera for the periscope telephoto unit. Add ZEISS on top of that, and this phone’s camera sure sounds promising.
This smartphone did not launch yet, not even in China. Its predecessor arrived in May last year, so this one could launch around the same time, if not in April. The Vivo X200 Pro mini, however, arrived to China back in October
That device is also tipped to reach India, so it will get a global variant too, if the report is to be believed. The two phones could launch at the same time… in India, at least.
