Meta’s Threads is one of the fastest-growing social networking platforms. Launched around 1.5 years ago, the micro-blogging platform reached the 100 million daily active users milestone last month. Since its launch, the company has been introducing more and more features for the newly hatched X competitor. Meta has several new features for the platform in the pipeline, including Community Notes and the ability to schedule posts. Another interesting feature is in the works that will allow you to add music to your Threads posts.
Meta is exploring a feature that would allow you to add music to your Threads posts
According to TechCrunch, Threads is currently internally prototyping the ability to add music to your posts. It’s worth mentioning that the option to add songs to posts is already available on Meta’s other social networking applications like Instagram and Facebook. Alessandro Paluzzi, a mobile developer and reverse engineer, first spotted the upcoming feature.
Threads app’s ability to add music to posts will bring it close to its biggest competitor, X. Some people will certainly welcome the upcoming feature. It will allow users to add a bit more color to their posts, apart from sharing their musical taste. Threads could enhance its appeal and gain more users by giving people a creative way to personalize their posts by adding their favorite songs.
As we’ve mentioned above, Threads hasn’t started testing the ability to add music to the posts feature publicly yet. Since it’s just a prototype functionality at the moment, there’s no way to tell when and if Meta will launch this feature.
Threads is also testing custom display names and cover images for profiles
In addition to adding music to posts, Threads also has a couple of other new personalization features in the works. It is internally testing the ability to let users set a custom display name to their profiles. In addition, you will be able to add a cover image to profiles if the company decides to publicly launch the feature in the future. These two features would also provide users another way to personalize their profiles on the platform like they would on X or Bluesky.
