The Galaxy S25 Ultra Comes With A 40% Larger Vapor Chamber

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series is now official and each device brings several new improvements to the table, one of which is the larger vapor chamber inside the Galaxy S25 Ultra. If you’re not familiar with vapor chambers, they’re used to pull heat away from the device and disperse it so the device stays cool. You’ll find vapor chambers in all kinds of electronics these days, but they’ve become rather popular for mobile devices. Manufacturers can now make them rather small and they do an incredible job at helping to keep temperatures lower.

They’re especially good for phones that manufacturers want to attract mobile gamers to. And the bigger they are, the better they can perform. Of course, the name of the game is keeping the vapor chamber small enough so as not to significantly increase the size of the phone, while still being able to increase the vapor chamber’s size to produce better cooling performance. Samsung has achieved that with all three Galaxy S25 phones. Namely the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Compared to the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the Galaxy S25 Ultra has a notably bigger vapor chamber. Samsung says that it has increased the size by 40%, which will help it disperse more heat. In addition to this, the vapor chamber comes with a Tailored TIM for better thermal efficiency. TIM, or Thermal Interface Materials, helps to transfer heat between components. Samsung has specially designed the TIM in its new Galaxy S25 series devices to work even better compared to its older models.

Both the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus benefit from vapor chamber improvements too. They don’t see as big of an increase, but the improvements will still make a difference. Samsung confirms that both the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus have a 15% larger vapor chamber compared to their Galaxy S24 series counterparts.

What does this mean for phone performance?

While we haven’t done any of our own testing, we can say that improved vapor chambers are going to help improve performance. At the very least, the new vapor chambers inside the Galaxy S25 series should help to sustain high performance for longer periods of time. How much longer is unclear, but it’ll be an improvement over the Galaxy S24 series.

What’s more, is that the Galaxy S25 series phones all come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile platform. A chipset that excels at performance for everything from video recording to streaming movies to playing mobile games.

If mobile games are an interest of yours, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will have no trouble pumping out high-end graphics. Thanks to the inclusion of things like improved Ray Tracing and better GPU performance. Overall, the performance should be markedly better than last year’s devices.
