When your friend gets a job hawking phones and phone plans at a T-Mobile kiosk, you might ask if they can hook you up with a special discount, now that they’re working for the fastest US carrier. If they like you, they might offer you T-Mobile’s Insider discount. It’s a simple code that you submit to the website and, in return, get 20% off the price of all voice lines on your account — for life.
It’s a pretty sweet deal, but if you don’t know anybody on the inside, you might never encounter it. If you have a T-Mobile Home Internet plan, though, you might have a rare opportunity coming up. For a limited time, the carrier is targeting certain internet-only accounts and proactively offering the Insider discount to encourage them to adopt its 5G network, too (Source: The Mobile Report).
The Insider discount is one of the more straightforward deals in the industry. It cuts 20% off the price of all your voice lines. Once you have it, it sticks around as long as your account stays open. If you ever buy an additional line, the 20% off continues to apply. Sometimes, it’s even compatible with T-Mobile’s periodic free line promotions (but not always).
With T-Mobile unveiling its updated selection of mobile plans a month ago, the Uncarrier is apparently looking to build on the nearly half-million new monthly subscribers it gained over the first quarter of this year. It’s the latest in a series of moves the industry leader is making to ensure the satisfaction of longtime customers while bringing in fresh users at the same time.

According to The Mobile Report’s anonymous sources, the rare offer starts today, and it’s not something you can opt into through the website or T-Life app. To take advantage of the deal, households with T-Mobile Home Internet plans should be on the lookout for correspondence from their provider. It’s unclear how internet-only customers will learn if they’re eligible, but a text message or email would be the most likely way.
The incoming Insider discount for T-Mobile Home Internet customers will apply only to the Experience More and Experience Beyond plans, which range from $85 to $215 per month depending on tier and number of lines. It won’t work with the Essentials tier, or with older Go5G or other grandfathered plans.
