Samsung is continuing the One UI 7 beta program for the Galaxy S24 series. The Android 15-based update has been a long time coming, but it’s getting closer. Recently, the firm sent out the beta 4 update with several bug fixes and some improvements to the camera experience. Now, unexpectedly, One UI 7 beta 5 reaches the Galaxy S24 units enrolled in the program.
The South Korean giant released the previous update just three days ago. So, it’s quite surprising that beta 5 is already rolling out. Samsung usually takes a week or two between each new beta release at least. So, this has been an unexpected—but welcome—change in events.
Samsung is now sending the One UI 7 beta 5 update to the Galaxy S24 series
As reported by SamMobile, Galaxy S24 devices enrolled in the beta program are already receiving One UI 7 beta 5 in the US. The update in question is labeled with build number S92xU1UEU4ZYBB on all models (Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra). The firmware size varies slightly from model to model but is usually around 450 MB.
According to the report, carrier-locked devices on AT&T and Verizon are the first to receive the One UI 7 beta 5 update. Interestingly, there only seems to be one fix worth mentioning. After installing the beta 4 update, many users complained about a bug where Samsung Visual Voicemail (VVM) kept crashing. Well, the latest beta 5 update fixes that issue.
The fact that Samsung pushed One UI 7 beta 5 so quickly and just to fix this particular bug is good news. That could mean the previous beta 4 update was already pretty stable. So, from now on, the company might start picking up the pace. According to reports, One UI 7 will get up to 6 betas before the stable rollout. A tipster said earlier today that the Galaxy S24 series will get One UI 7 in March. The latest developments seem to match up with the leak.
